EMPO Moreau Red course, 5.4K

This terrain is so amazing, it’s just a shame that it me so hard to get to. I had only trained here previously, so it was really nice to have actual flags in the woods. I was worried the scale would throw me (1:7500) so I went in trying to be careful, and immediately made a mistake on 1, thinking I was on the second hill when I was actually still on the first. After a stupid loop up and down a hill I fixed my mistake and then Actually had a fairly clean run, kept it slow and steady to keep good map contact. One twisted ankle slowed me down briefly but it wasn’t too bad.

We coupled this with a weekend of camping at the park even tho it’s only 45 minutes away. The campground is spacious and secluded, and we accidently booked the site closest to the playground so G is happy too!
